Offering the flexibility of a drop-in price can be beneficial for some clients, while others may prefer to limit class access to members or those who purchase packages. ClassFit makes it easy to choose how you want to price your classes.

Setting Up Drop-in Pricing

When creating a class, you’ll reach a section titled “Payments” on the third page of the setup process. Here’s how you can configure drop-in pricing:

In the Payments section, you’ll see an option labeled “Drop-in available”:

Yes: This is the default setting, allowing clients to pay a drop-in fee. You can set the specific price for drop-ins here.

No: Select this if you prefer to offer the class exclusively through packages or memberships. Clients will only be able to sign up for your classes using the available packages.

If you choose not to offer a drop-in option, ensure that your class is linked to a package that clients can purchase to attend the session.

The Differences Between Class Packs and Recurring Memberships Class Packs:A class pack is a one-time purchase that provides a specific number of class...

In this article, we’ll explain how recurring memberships function and how they differ from class packs.

The Differences Between Class Packs and Recurring Memberships

Class Packs:
A class pack is a one-time purchase that provides a specific number of class credits. These credits are valid for a certain number of days from the purchase date. Both the number of credits and the expiration period are set by the studio and can be adjusted at any time. Once all credits are used or the class pack expires, it cannot be used again, and clients cannot book classes beyond the expiration date.

Recurring Memberships:
A recurring membership is an ongoing, automatic membership that renews either weekly or monthly. Once purchased, it will automatically renew every 7 days (weekly) or 30 days (monthly). The client is automatically charged for the membership at each renewal, and new class credits are automatically added to their account. Because memberships renew automatically, clients with memberships can register for classes ahead of their renewal date.

Canceling a Membership

If you wish to cancel an existing membership, ensure you are in Participant view and follow these steps:

Once on the profile page, go to My Packages. Then toggle OFF the status for renewal.

ClassFit will then ask you to confirm that you want to cancel the membership. Click Cancel renewal if you are sure.

Pausing a Membership

While clients cannot pause memberships on their own, studios have the ability to pause memberships. If you need to pause your membership—due to an injury, for example—please contact your studio directly to discuss this option.

Why a client can't see a class pack or membership at checkout: not linked to the class, Hidden or Legacy status, first-time only, existing membership, unused credits.

A client only sees a package at checkout when all of these are true. Work down the list.

1. The package is linked to that class. Go to Packages > Edit packages, click the pencil on the package, and check the class is ticked under “Are all classes, services and video on demand included?”. A pack that covers your general classes will not show on a specialist class unless you add that class to it.

2. The package status is Available. A Hidden or Legacy package cannot be bought. Clients who already have it can keep using their credits, but nobody can buy it again. To sell it again, create it again as a new package with status Available, or add it to the client by hand from their profile.

3. It is not first-time clients only. If “First time clients only” is ticked, a client who has booked any class before will not see it. Edit the package and untick it.

4. The client does not already hold a recurring membership. By default a client can hold one recurring membership at a time. Turn on Settings > Class settings > Multiple recurring packages to allow more than one, or cancel the existing membership.

5. The client does not already have unused credits in that pack. They must use those first. To let them buy again, edit the package on their profile and remove the unused credits.

6. The package will not expire before the class date. A non-recurring pack with a short expiry is not offered for classes after its expiry.

Giving a package versus selling it. If you add a package from the client’s profile (Clients > name > Packages > Add package), the client is not charged. You are giving them credits. If you want them to pay, do not add it; they buy it at class checkout or from the Package tab on your calendar widget. See How clients purchase packages.
